Detroit-based EPIC Translations Selected by Boston Public Schools for Ongoing Language Services

Detroit, Michigan – December 12, 2011 – Boston Public Schools has selected EPIC Translations to provide translation and interpretation services to its 134 schools, 4,231 teachers, 57,050 students, and 2,251 administrative staff to better service the BPS student population. EPIC Translations President Mostansar Virk made the announcement today.

“Boston Public Schools is working to improve academic quality, increase graduation rates, and close achievement gaps,” Virk said. “I’m looking forward to working with all 134 schools within the Boston Public Schools system, and I’m confident EPIC Translations will be one of Boston Public Schools’ greatest assets as it strives towards its acceleration agenda.”

Massachusetts has the 7th largest immigrant population in the U.S., with a total of 772,983 immigrants, or 12.2% of the population. Moreover, Boston has the 5th highest proportion of foreign-born residents among the 23 largest U.S. cities.
